We provide training and learning opportunities to help you develop all the skills and knowledge you need, so you don’t need previous experience to start a career in care. You just need to care about others and want to be part of a positive and supportive team. All new team members have a two week shadowing period with our in house teams.

Volunteering and work experience

At Hartford Care we are looking for volunteers who can make a positive difference to the lives of our residents.   

 

Hours and days can be flexible to suit availability, it’s your contribution that makes you special.

 

Things we value: 

 

  • Spend time with residents whose families struggle to visit 
  • Help out in our gardens or lifestyle kitchens 
  • Drive a minibus or get involved with outdoor activities 
  • Run an art and crafts workshop 
  • Bake or cook with the residents 
  • Start a book or knitting club 
  • Play cards or board games, write a quiz or even call at bingo
  • Support events and special days
